Feast of Mercy 2018

I want to give Myself to souls; I yearn for souls, My daughter – this confession of Jesus is written in “Diary” by Sister Faustina. On the day of My feast, the Feast of Mercy – Jesus continues – you will go through the whole world and bring fainting souls to the spring of My mercy. I shall heal and strengthen them (Diary, 206).Today is the unique day of hard work in which – according to the recommendation of her Master – Sister Faustina begins a spiritual marathon to reach every soul with the message of mercy. The most privileged are those who have learned that they will not go far on their own, who have lost faith in themselves, but have opened themselves to God´s infinite power: I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the Fount of My Mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet (Diary, 699).

Jesus very much wanted the new Feast to appear in the liturgical calendar. Souls perish in spite of My bitter Passion – motivated his demands – I am giving them the last hope of salvation; that is, the Feast of My Mercy. If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity (Diary, 965). On the day of the canonization of Sister Faustina, on April 30, 2000, the Holy Father John Paul II announced this feast as a gift for the whole Church.

Let Sister Faustina lead us today to the Source of Mercy – to God, who opens his  heart and wants to immerse us in him and give generously all graces. His mercy is so great that for all eternity no mind, be it of man or of angel, will fully understand it. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of His mercy (see Diary, 699).
